My Signature Dish - Family Films
If you are interested in a film about your family, then I am your local filmmaker!
There are three ideas I can give you:
1. Memoires of a life well lived - this is where I interview your elders of the family about their life and stories. The problem we have when we are younger is that we don't consider that our grandparents had their own life before our parents came along. They are just the grandparents. Then, usually at their funeral, we start to wonder "who was this person we really didn't know?". Wonder no more! Record interviews with your elders so that when your great grandchildren are updating your ancestry.com records, you can show them a film of their great, great grandparents. Imagine that?
2. Special events - I don't do weddings, there are specialists for that. But what about childbirth? That would be a good film to pull out every time your teenager says: "It's my life, leave me alone!". Or maybe a 25th Wedding Anniversary or the 50th! Not too many people make it together that long and when I have suggested to friends to celebrate or re-affirm vows, they often remark "You get less for murder!". But really, of those who have remained together, weathered the good times and the bad, what do they have to say to younger generations about what it takes?
3. Now let's talk about your Photos and Films in the Cloud. With 15 years of mobile phones enabling photos, surely you have a swagger of your life sitting in the Cloud? The holiday to Bali? The children's first steps? The important moments in life you wanted to capture for the future and now do not see it, even though you know it's there. I can help you to create your Family Film through the story telling of those photos and footage. We can compile it into themes, put music to it, record your commentary about it or however you want it presented. We can make it into a feature film or a web series of specific stories. You don't have to know now what you can do - we can have a conversation that gets you started and when you are ready, I have the editing equipment and skills to make your film come true!
