A five minute glimpse of the circumstances that led to the crash in the indoor skydiving tunnel at IFly Melbourne and what then proceeded the incident.
This is a fun little video where I am training myself in a new technique. I don't know what it is called, sorry. I have used photographs to tell a " moving" story. I was inspired by Toy Story and their behind the scenes technique. It is also a tribute to my father who made a similar type of film but with a doll sneaking up to drinking his beer while he read the newspaper. In a few days it will be the anniversary of 100 years since my father's birth and so I thought this might be a good "warm up" to the actual film I will make to acknowledge him.
Look at me, look at me, look at me !!
My third one minute attempt at learning to barrel roll in the IFly indoor skydiving tunnel. Look out for the excited hands of my instructor Blair !!
First Loves Never Die?
This is one of my projects for the Masters of Creative Industries degree I am undertaking (2022-23). I have written a full length script for this story and so this is an early development stage that works towards that. if you see a film out at your local cinema's in a few years time by the same title, you can proudly state "I saw an early mock-up version of this film!".
When the Next Package Arrived
Not so long ago there was a package that arrived. In the package was a vaccine for a human body. Inside the human body, the dosha's, called Pitta, Vata & Kapha, worked with the immunity system to ensure it effective journey into the system. Now, four months later, another package has arrived but this time without announcement. If you have not seen the first film "When The Package Arrived" you should see that before watching this one - other wise you are working backwards and it may not make sense !!
A Pocket of Melbourne, Holiday At Home Episode 1
A Pocket of Melbourne, Holiday At Home Episode 1, is made for anyone who had not visited the City of Melbourne for a while. It features an empty train travelling from outback Craigieburn, the Yarra River, a zipline over the Yarra and the garden setting nearby set to some jazzy music. For less than 8 minutes, what else could you want?
A Bee Party In My Shipping Container !?!
I have been told over the phone (like a consultation with my GP but with a Pest Controller) "they are probably Bees and not Wasps". After speaking to a couple of Bee Keepers who are filled to capacity, it must be Bee Season! He could be right. I have put this film together (because I can) and to give a potential Bee Keeper a heads up of the party going on in my shipping container!

This film also marks 100 Films 'made for experience in two years' and foresees a transition from Amateur to Professional (by my own decree). That means a new format is under construction and there may be (hopefully) a very small cost for you to view the films.

Celebrating Three Hours In The Sky
Another Film of IFly Tunnel Skydiving? Yep. And now I have 3 hours experience/practice. I am told that when I get to 20 hours I'll feel more free to do my own thing and at this rate it could be four and a half years away! Until then, feel free to check in to this update as I attempt to master Back Flying. It is broken into four sections so feel free to watch it in parts if binging half an hour is not your thing! Grab a cuppa first if it is!!
Sophia's 53rd Birthday | An Event In 3 Parts | Short Version
Skydiving, High Tea and All You Can Eat Dinner - what else would you do for your birthday? Sophia's skills in Skydiving are improving, as demonstrated in her 2 minute interactive-exhibition; then the next level of training leading to "Back Flying" is covered. The High Tea has been shortened to reduce watching time so you will miss the Stand-Up Comedy Routine! The deliciousness of the Japanese Dinner can be seen on the faces of the participants. Stay right through to the end to catch the Ballerina in the Tunnel ... and the credits at the end are worth watching too! Enjoy.
Sixty to 120 Minutes In Twelve Weeks
And the passion continues to run hot! With weekly visits to the Tunnel, I have clocked up an additional one hour and one minute in twelve weeks! Building my stamina from 5 to 7 minutes, divided into 3 or 4 games, I am ready to bring on the 10 minutes on my next Birthday (watch out for that film!). In this film you may be as entertained as my instructor and I. While you cannot see the "Air Traffic Controller" (as I like to refer to him) in the room behind the camera, you can guess his enjoyment from the glances my instructor makes across to him on occasion! Boil that kettle again and sit down with a cuppa!
Zero To Sixty Minutes In Three Years
My joy, my love, my new found freedom ... dancing in the tunnel! This tribute to my first 60 minutes of experience flying in the IFly Indoor Skydiving Tunnel shows the progress I have made. While spread over 3 years as I waited for Melbourne to start building and then complete their Tunnel ... and then interrupted by two COVID-19 Lockdowns while their business closed ... I eventually got there! Sit down with a cuppa and have a laugh with me (or at me) and enjoy!
Happy New Year 2021
With 85 Films under her belt, Director Sophia Cull is now starting to combine the various platforms for film making she has been dabbling with (Doodly, Toonly, Zoom & Mobile Phone Filming) in preparing herself for her next level of Film Making in Health Education and Health Promotion Videos. While there is a message in this film (!!) the gap of time of 12 days between making it and editing it has rendered it "off" (any other time of year might not have been a problem but this is like a 2 week late birthday wish). Just so that in years to come when Sophia's name is on the big screen alongside other film directors like Mr. Ridley Scott, you can say "Oh Sophia - yes, I saw the films that got her started!".
A 29 year old Poem finds new life in an animation film. Not exactly the pictures to go with the words but we must work within our boundaries until we can expand them!
Dining Out After Stage 4 COVID Lockdown In Melbourne
While the story was written while sitting in a café, it was not intended for film until the Toonly program presented itself to me. The next level to Doodly, Toonly promises a bit more creativity. So for my first practice run I took the story I wrote and "practiced". Enjoy!
What Would My 12 Year Old Self Think Of My Life Now?
Inspired by a series made by ABC Television for NAIDOC Week 2018 where "famous people" were asked about what their 12 year old self would think of how their life is now (at their current age) ... I decided it was a good question to consider and made my own interview (of sorts) asking the same questions. You can Google the NAIDOC week episodes on iView and if you do not meet their level of "being famous" to score an interview, give me a call and I can interview you !!

Straight Through The Heart
The closest story-telling in animation format, Sophia has used the limited graphics in Doodly.com to create a story 'close to her heart'*. A story about life, about death, about families, about love, about grief and about anger. That says it all really. The main message, though, is 'life's too short' to be nasty to each other!
*Forewarning - there is emotive foul language used in this film!
